This is, of course, an intermittent problem.
Running MX7.02. My mail server is a separate machine, inside
the firewall, and responds just fine to telnet to port 25. Pages
that used to CFMail just fine no longer do. There are no errors in
any log about either failures to send OR notations that it did, in
fact, send mail when it was requested to do to. Out of 6 attempts
to send mail with the same page, two worked, and logged as
successfully sent.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

In the CF Admin switch on the logging of sent mail and try
again.

CFMail doesn't send mail
Turning on logging was the first thing I tried. Nothing
appeared in the logs.

If a mail message doesn't show either in mailsent.log or in
the error
log as a delivery error chances are it isn't generated
properly. Can you
run your test template again and check whether the email
messages are
actually written to the /cfusion/mail/spool folder?

Of course, NOW it's working.
We've been having problems with this server at the OS
level...that may be where the problem lies. In any event, thanks
for the info about the spool folder--I didn't know about
that.
