document when clicked, however, nothing happens. I have tried
saving this document as a Word document, and htm file and a pdf
file. I have the document saved in the same location as where I
have my published files.
When I publish this project as a Flash project, I get the
following error:
The files/projects listed below are linked to the open
project. The linked files/projects may require exporting.
(The path pointing to my linked file shows here)
It is also important to copy all referenced files and
projects with their corresponding HTML files to the output folder.
Any ideas? This shouldn't be this difficult. I'm sure I'm
just missing a simple step. Can anyone help me?Linked files do not work
Hi dkoza and welcome to our community
For starters, the message you saw was only informational. It
was not an error. It was simply advising you that you have files
linked to this output that will also require to be exported.
As for why the links are failing (or appear to be) there are
a number of reasons this could happen. The first usual suspect is
the Flash Security Settings. You may view a tutorial about this by
clicking
here.
Lets first rule those out before tackling the other possible
avenues. Please view the tutorial, follow any links that are
mentioned, make the changes and test. Assuming this doesn't help to
resolve it, please post back here with more detail and we will try
to help sort it.

I get the same message,

I added the .swf file off of a button. I put the .swf file
and the pdf in the same folder as the captivate project. But it
doesn't seem to export with it. Do I need export the file
seperately up to the server and link to it from the button using
the url?
Any suggestions, Diana
Hi Diana and welcome to our community
Indeed you will need to ensure the file is manually included
when you copy things to the server. Captivate does not do anything
that helps you with this.

Thanks for responding,
One more question, when it says - ''It is also important to
copy all referenced files and projects with their corresponding
files to the output folder.''
What exactly does it mean? Can I unzip the file and add the
.swf and pdf to the scorm support file and re-zip it? then load it
to our LMS?
The LMS question really depends on the specific LMS... you
may want to ask your vendor how their system handles Zip files.
I would think you should be able to just add the linked files
to the Zip as you described, but you may also find that you need to
list the extra files as resources in your manifest file so the LMS
is made aware of them when it unzips the archive.
