I was wondering if I could get some advice from web designers
on here.
I have currently a Dreamweaver web site that is hosted by a
well know host. I want certain individuals to be able to upload and
download large private PDF files that are password encrypted. In
other words, the PDF鈥檚 that they upload can only be
downloaded by me, and the PDF鈥檚 that I upload can only be
downloaded by them.
I can design and maintain my web site, but the encryption
will be new to me.
Any advice I can get would be most appreciated!
Thanks!

Password encryption help
I'm confused by your question. You want to encrypt a
password? Password protect a PDF file? Or you want to control
access to certain files by certain people?Password encryption help
please clarify-
do you want to password protect a directory on the website,
so that only
people you grant access to can download the pdf files?
or- do you want to password protect the pdf files themselves
(within
Acrobat) so that they will only open for people with the
password to enter
within acro reader?
or- both? or something else?

I'm sorry.
Let me try to explain further. I am fairly new to this.
I currently have a Dreamweaver site hosted by a server.
I want clients to be able to upload a proposal that only I
can have access to.
Also, I want to be able to upload my work, that only they (my
client) can download via some sort of password.
In other words, I do not want just anyone to be able to view
or download the info contained on the site.
The files that are exchanged are much too large to be sent
through email. I know this can be done but don't know if it is in
my realm of expertise at this time. I'm hoping it is.
Hope that's a better explanation.
Thanks!
-Tony
