Photoshop images in Dreamweaver

How should an image be saved from Photoshop so it will
display correctly in dreamweaver?

Images look good in Photoshop but when loaded to Dreamweaver
they show up ragged/pixelated/fuzzy.

Should they be saved as jpg, gif or another format?

What parameters should be used when saving? i.e.
compression/quality, format options, etc. ?

Could the problem be something else?

Thanks,

Export as a GIF, JPG, or PNG depending on the particulars of
the image.

Likely a GIF compressed with a poor color palet or a JPG
showing compression

artifacts.

In general:

photographs = JPGs

Line art/text images OR animated images OR images with
one-color

transparency needs = GIFs

images with alpha-transparency needs = PNGs

It really depends on the particulars of each individual
image.
