in IE6. I have two nav bars where I want to swap images ''on mouse
over'' and restore the image ''on mouse out''. In IE6 the image is
swapped ''on mouse over'' but not restored ''on mouse out''. Is this
behavior not supported by IE6 or am I just doing something wrong.

Some questions first -
Why this?
body {
background-color: #669966;
height: 500px;
width: 820px;
margin-right: auto;
margin-left: auto;
overflow: hidden;
position: relative;
}
position:relative on the body tag?
Why is every container positioned relative?
Curiously, your page is crashing my DWCS3 everytime I try to
load it. The
code on the page appears nominal, so I can see no reason for
that to happen.
Also, the swap image behaviors you have applied appear to be
fine, yet, I
too can see the non-restore in IE6. I'm pretty baffled.

I don't have IE6 here to test it, but I'd try commenting out
the link to
pngfix.js just to see what happens.

Good idea....

Thanks for the responses guys. I tried commenting out the png
fix and it seemed to solve the problem. I looked a little bit
further into the pngfix and realized that the standard fix breaks
the swap image functions (oddly, the swap image seemed to work but
the swap image restore did not). I found a modified pngfix that was
supposed to fix the image restore problem but it didn't seem to
change anything. Oh well, back to the drawing board I guess. Maybe
I should just forget about this problem as it only occurs in IE6.
Anyways this is the modified png fix I found at

Then again, looking at current browser usage stats, I'd be
forgeting about 35% of potential visitors.
Why not use GIF instead of PNG?

Well, the main graphic on the homepage (the one that is
spread out over the picture that says riha research group on it)
does not seem to render well as a gif because of the gradient of
colors used for it. As for the nav bar on the homepage, I tried
converting those buttons to gifs but they appeared very pixelated
when placed over the main graphic (which is png). Even converting
the text graphics to gifs inside the nav bar on the subpages seems
to be an issue because they are placed over a gradient background
(which is also png) and gifs only allow one color for background
transparency. Maybe I'm just being too much of a
perfectionist.
